Kateri is an associate at Hutchins Legal Inc. where her focus is on Aboriginal and treaty rights. She has been involved in the negotiations of a specific claim and has acquired legal experience in areas such as the right to self-governance, individual aspects of Aboriginal rights, impact benefit agreements, access to health services and education for English-speaking First Nations communities in Quebec, and the applicability of provincial and federal laws on reserve. She has also participated in complex litigation concerning the assertion of treaty harvesting rights.


Kateri is a Mohawk from Kanesatake and prior to joining Hutchins Legal, she worked in the areas of social and clinical psychology, both on reserve and in the urban Aboriginal community. She is a former student of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and was a professional dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.


Kateri practices in English and in French. She is fluent in spoken and written Spanish.
