International law

Our lawyers keep abreast with the latest developments in Aboriginal law at the international level including, the jurisprudence of the United Nations and the Inter-American human rights system.

We have experience in advising First Nations, Inuit, governmental and non-governmental organizations on human rights claims before the United Nations Treaty Bodies, as well as the Inter-American Commission and Inter-American Court for human rights.

We also help clients in their advocacy efforts before international bodies, such as the United Nations Permanent Forum on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and advise them on how to participate in the international monitoring processes regarding Canada’s compliance with its international obligations towards Indigenous Peoples.
